Birdwatching Tours in Khao Yai National Park
Home to several hundred different types of bird species, Khao Yai National Park is undoubtedly one of the best destinations in Thailand for birding trips. A few of the exciting birds seen in the park include oriental pied, great, brown, and wreathed hornbills; ground-dwelling birds like the silver pheasant and Siamese fireback; red-headed and orange-breasted trogons; and several pitta, barbet, owl, and broadbill species, among many others. Our birdwatching tours are private with flexible itineraries accompanied by professional birding guides. We will discuss in advance what you are targeting and decide the destinations accordingly. These tours are suitable for first-timers as well as for experienced birders targeting specific species.

We had a wonderful time with our guide Alex. He spotted hidden creatures of all kinds: snakes, scorpions, artistic gibbons, various beautiful birds - like horn bills or king fisher - funny monkeys and huge spiders and beetles. Even though we were not lucky enough to see elephants we were fascinated by the magical atmosphere of the jungle.

This tour was absolutely fantastic! Everything was so well organized. The pickup was right on time. Our tour guide was excellent and very knowledgable (with a sharp eye for spotting birds and getting them on the spotting scope). Lunch was provided and was excellent. It was a day full of some of the best birds I've ever seen, and I'm so glad I chose this tour! highly recommend.

We had two very good days bird watching in Khao Yai National Park. Our guide Ryan showed us lots of birds and other animals; we would never have spotted most of them on our own. The calm and relaxed pace of the tour was very enjoyable. Several stops were made right by the roadside – understandable for seeing birds in the treetops, but unfortunately very noisy. The detours into the jungle, without the noise of cars and other distractions, were the highlights of the tour.
The transport was not so good: the car we travelled in for two days was very old and the driver hardly drove faster than 30 km/h, so we spent a lot of time travelling.

Communication with the NP system for setting up our birding and wildlife 2 full days and night tour was efficient/great. Birding guide/naturalist Alec was very good, knowledgable, thoughtful to his guests. We would travel with him again. We would use this service again. We have a lengthy list of birds and wildlife seen and photographed. Kapkunkrop

Alec (Alek? Alex?) was an excellent bird guide. I had no target species, but I was able to photograph 13 lifers—a pretty low number, according to him, but I am grateful, nonetheless. The bull elephant made a sudden appearance at the end of our trip, which was a bonus.
Also, the driver was good, and I arrived at the park and returned to my home quickly, safely, and promptly.

Had arranged a 1-day birdwatching trip with Tontan travel to Khao Yai from Bangkok. Kudos to guide Alex who was diligently looking out for my target species, always listening and checking potential areas. Although I didn't get to see the banded kingfisher which would have absolutely made my trip even more memorable, I still enjoyed the day outing thoroughly. All things considered, it was still a blessing to have sighted a lone male Wild Elephant in the open field, the white-handed Gibbon and the red-headed Trogon at eye level. (Side note : The taxi ride to Khao Yai & back were smooth with safety-conscious drivers. Was able to rest comfortably during the car rides). Would not hesitate to take up another longer trip again with Tontan in future.

The tour was straight up fire! Our guide Jay and Intira was superb when it comes to finding my target birds to photograph. I will book again on another birding sortie.
